Why We Need to Talk About Agentic AI

cover

There’s a lot of noise in the AI space right now.But the future doesn’t belong to the loudest voices. It belongs to the ones who build with intent.

A few months ago, I found myself in a room full of founders, all talking about one thing: Agentic AI. The energy was incredible, but the definitions were all over the place.

Some saw agents as autonomous assistants.
Others described workflows stitched together with prompts.
A few pitched entire products, but couldn’t explain what made them “agentic.”

It reminded me of something I’ve seen happen before: when a genuinely powerful idea starts to catch fire, but gets burned out by hype.

I’ve been in tech long enough to know the pattern.

First comes excitement. Then comes noise. Then comes confusion. And before you know it, something promising becomes just another label on a landing page.

That’s exactly what’s happening now. I’ll be honest, very few are building Agentic AI right.

At SuperOps, we’ve been heads down building tools for MSPs for years. We know what meaningful automation looks like. And we know what it doesn’t look like.

That’s why we decided to do things a little differently. We didn’t launch a campaign to announce something; we launched one to question everything. Not to make a statement, but to start a conversation.

What is Agentic AI supposed to be?
What should it be doing for the MSP and IT community?

We just quietly put up a few cryptic messages in Times Square and near some old-school IT vendors. We even slipped one into NASDAQ.

When we started building SuperOps, we didn’t set out to automate everything. We set out to make life easier for IT teams. And the more we listened, the more we realized that speed isn’t enough. You need systems that can think with you. That’s what Agentic AI should mean.

As we move into a world where AI becomes part of every decision and process, MSPs need more than flashy demos. They need agents that are built with purpose. That’s the kind of AI we believe in, and the kind we’re building toward. True agents don’t just take actions. They carry responsibility. They adapt, learn, and stick around to finish the job.

Now, I know what you’re probably wondering. What actually happens next? I won’t spoil the surprise. But I will say this:

This isn’t a product drop. This is for builders; founders, developers, and innovators who want to go beyond just using AI and start creating with it.

We’re launching something that lets the MSP and IT community take agentic AI into their own hands. Build with it. Shape it. Make it yours.

And yeah, we’re doing it with a bit of drama. Look up at the sky on August 8. Something’s coming. Until then, I’ll leave you with this:

There’s a lot of noise in the AI space right now.

But the future doesn’t belong to the loudest voices.

It belongs to the ones who build with intent.

We’re not chasing the AI hype. We’re going looking for what’s missing.Come join us?
