Automation and Agentic AI in Atera vs ConnectWise

AI and Automation in Atera

Atera’s AI works on two levels. AI Copilot is included in every plan and helps technicians with tickets, scripts, CLI commands, and knowledge base articles. Robin is Atera's autonomous AI agent that resolves IT requests end-to-end without manual input. It is billed separately with custom pricing.

AI and Automation in ConnectWise

ConnectWise has two AI products. Sidekick assists with ticket triage, categorization, resolution suggestions, and script generation across its PSA and RMM. zofiQ, acquired in January 2026, is ConnectWise's agentic layer, it runs inside PSA workflows and handles triage, resolution, and documentation.

Monica

SuperOps’ Monica AI is developed to work as one unit with our unified architecture, combining operating system data and service delivery on a single data layer. Because this architecture unifies your data , capabilities like the AI script engine and AI recommended ticket solutions help resolve technical issues using live device histories. The platform actively handles routine groundwork through AI ticket deflection, stopping common problems from ever hitting your queue. Technicians get clear data. They make the best operational decisions and focus their energy on high-value strategic work.

Cloud-native

Cloud or on-premise

Atera's RMM covers endpoint monitoring, patch management, and asset management across Windows, Mac, Linux and network devices. Remote access is built in through Splashtop and AnyDesk, with TeamViewer and ScreenConnect also available if you bring your own license. It does not have native MDM features, for that users have to buy a paid Miradore add-on.

ConnectWise offers two RMM products. ConnectWise RMM is the newer cloud-native option built on the Asio platform, with ScreenConnect remote access included in every package and patch management covering thousands of third-party applications. ConnectWise Automate is the older product, better suited for complex environments that need deep scripting and on-premise deployment, but it takes significantly longer to set up and configure.

SuperOps delivers true cross-OS management and automated self-healing endpoints in a single license. It handles Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and iPadOS from a single console with zero-touch deployment. Because our RMM and PSA share a single codebase, every endpoint is contextually linked to live ticket histories, active contracts, and real-time client profitability. This native connection tracks every technician hour worked on every managed device automatically from endpoint to invoice. Technicians see the full operational picture instantly, while Monica AI goes beyond flagging risks to generate and execute fixes autonomously.

Billing and invoicing

✓

Atera includes native PSA capabilities built into every subscription tier. Functionally, the platform provides ticketing, SLA tracking, contract management, and time logging out of the box. Billing workflows integrate natively with accounting tools like QuickBooks and Xero, and custom reporting dashboards are available on their higher-tier plans.

ConnectWise PSA delivers an enterprise-grade service management suite structured as a standalone product module. It features multi-tier SLA management, an advanced dedicated analytics engine, and deep project management workflows that handle milestone tracking and multi-tier billing configuration. AI capabilities can assist with ticket triage and categorization inside the helpdesk panel.

SuperOps PSA shares a data layer and codebase with its RMM, so every ticket carries full device context and can trigger patching or scripted fixes without leaving the platform. Profitability is visible at the client level from day one, not as a month-end estimate. Time entries reconcile against contracts automatically, eliminating the billing lag that costs MSPs weeks of overhead every month.

Helpdesk and ticketing in Atera vs ConnectWise

Helpdesk and Ticketing in Atera

Atera's helpdesk is built into the core platform with no additional configuration needed. Ticket automation, SLA tracking, multi-channel support, and knowledge base integration are all included. Tickets connect directly to contracts, so time tracking and invoicing happen automatically.

Helpdesk and Ticketing in ConnectWise

ConnectWise delivers helpdesk functionality through ConnectWise PSA, with deeper workflow customization and multi-tier SLA management than Atera. The tradeoff is setup complexity: some capabilities depend on how the broader ConnectWise suite is configured, which adds deployment time.

Monica

SuperOps unifies your service desk and endpoint management layer inside a single codebase, eliminating the need to switch between separate ticketing and RMM windows. Because of this built-as-one design, every open ticket automatically surfaces live device history, patch status, and asset telemetry, allowing technicians to launch remote access to run scripts or chat with end-users if needed.

Support and community comparison of Atera vs ConnectWise

Atera Community and Support

Atera provides 24/7 live chat support across all plans, with reasonable response times. G2 rates Atera at 9.0/10 for quality of support. The community is active and growing, with documentation, in-app guidance, and MSP-focused resources. Some users report longer wait times during peak periods, though the overall support sentiment is strong.

9.0

G2 Quality of Support

ConnectWise Community and Support

ConnectWise scores 7.6/10 for quality of support on G2. The platform has an extensive partner ecosystem, certification programs, and ConnectWise University for self-paced training. Support quality and response times are more variable, and users managing complex deployments often rely on certified implementation partners rather than direct support alone.

Atera vs ConnectWise: Which platform is right for you?

Atera suits lean MSPs and IT teams that want fast deployment, transparent pricing, and a unified platform without extensive setup. The per-technician model with unlimited endpoints is a genuine advantage for teams managing large device counts. The tradeoffs are PSA depth and agentic capabilities in Robin are paid add-ons, not inclusions, which pushes the effective cost up as you scale.

ConnectWise is built for MSPs running complex, high-volume operations that need deep scripting, advanced project management, and a mature partner ecosystem. That capability comes at a cost: opaque pricing, implementation fees, a steep learning curve, and significant setup time before the platform delivers value. Teams willing to absorb that investment tend to stay long-term.
